It's Friday, I'm in Love...
Hello Friends,
Did you write this week?
As we head into the weekend, I challenge you to abandon fear and trust yourself, to dig deep (go there!) and try new things, to find inspiration in new places.
And, this:
Write. Imagine. Create.
And when all else fails?
Know when to stop for the day, have a margarita...
and dance on top of the table!
Have a spectacular weekend!
Love,
Lola

About Me

- Lola Sharp
- My name is Lola. (I'm not a showgirl) Yes, L-O-L-A Lola. It's the least of my worries. Let's move on, shall we? This blog is mostly about my misadventures on the journey to publication and beyond. My passion for lush prose, quirky characters, art, music, literature, performing arts and anything creative will be a major theme here. This journey of mine will not always be pretty. Much like rubbernecking a train wreck, I know sometimes you just can't help but look at the carnage that is often my life. So strap on your neck brace, helmet and 5-point harness and come along for the ride! Licentia poetica.

Hey Lola! Trying to brainstorm ideas for a third and final book. I'll work on that this weekend.
Thank you, Lola, once again you came through when I needed you. And you didn't even know you were needed!
Have a great weekend.
Hey Lola,
You have inspired me to go back to something I abandoned a few weeks ago. I've been so busy "campaigning" this week that I need to step away now.
Love it! I'm hoping to get some time writing in before I head back to school this week! The summer has gone... :)
Lola, I can't tell you how much I needed this right now. I've been at the computer 14 hrs a day all week. Now I'm going to go make myself a martini!
Happy Friday Lola! :-D This was a LONG week, but I am ready to make some major writing progress!
Lola! I've missed you. :) You have a great Friday, too . . . and Loved the poster with Voldemort dancing. Somehow he doesn't see as scary that way.
That's great advice. I'm glad Friday is almost over!
Ok...that last one made me laugh. :D Great post. I need a swift kick in the arse to get some writing done.
"Know when to stop for the day, have a margarita..." <--My new favorite writing rule. *grin*
Oh lord, I loved that Voldemort thing. Hilarious. Have a great weekend Lola!!!!
I love it! I wrote a few new characters for a story I'm about to start outlining. :D
Haha, I haven't done any writing this week, but I have done some serious dancing.
Well, since it is a holiday weekend... think I'll try some of that dancing on the table top stuff. :)

A margarita is always welcome. ;)
What an awesome post for inspiration!
I did write this week, but I sure didn't look like the woman in your first picture while doing so... lol!
Have a great weekend.
What a great post! I have to admit... I didn't see the Dancing Dark Lord coming. :)
Ha ha ha ha, I was LMAO-ing at the rockin' Voldy pics!! Tooooo funny. I loved the 12.5 writing tips. I definitely need to get back into the swing of things.
Thanks for the inspiration and the giggles!! :-)
Hey, Miss Lola! How are you? *hands you a drink*
You know, it's really hard to focus on this comment with 'ole Jared staring at me. Or is he staring at you? Glad to hear it. Have him sing "Closer to the Edge" for me and then you can have him.
Thanks for the post. I could very easily use every ounce of this 3-day weekend. I have edits on my second novel, an article due soon and have had zero time to visit blogs. I'm definitely going to work this weekend, but I promise to sit awhile and spend time with my wife.
Thanks for the reminder.
*taps glass*
Cheers!

That Voldemort poster is HILARIOUS!
I have GOT to get into a writing routine again. Since I started my new job (it's only mornings), I have been running errands and such during my writing time. Next week...
Thanks for visiting my blog. I, too, am happy to have found you amid the vast sea of keystrokes. I shall mark your blog and note it well. Indeed, I shall!
Thanks for the earlier comment and follow. I love the list of writing rules! Excellent. I'll see you out in the time-sucky twitterverse.
LOL, Love that Voldemort bit. And Ray Bradbury's quote too! Um, writing this week--does REwriting (revising) count? Of course it does? LOL Happy writing to you! :)
HA I haven't stopped writing! 3 Day Novel contest and right back into editing and another book.
I adore your blog design, Lola! It's so pretty. :D I just thought I'd stop over and say hi! I'm your newest follower too. *grins*
The margarita sounds great right about now. Enjoy your weekend, too!
Yes, I wrote plenty this week, so I'm relaxing now. I'm not dancing though, just sort of vegging out.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Lola this was great. Love those rules of writing. I've been writing up a storm and feel quite virtuous. D
Hi Lola. Thank you for visiting my blog. I love this post, it's fun ,and there are some fab snippets of advice there too. I particularly like: 'Either write something worth reading or do something worth writing about.' >> I really need to take that advice. :)
Love the Ray Bradbury quote! Great fun pics too, Lola.
Hi Lola-I love your blog! I find it to be inspirational--I love quotes :) Plus I am impressed with your ability to surf--I am deeply afraid of the ocean! Anyway thanks for stopping by my blog, and for taking the time to make some lovely comments!

I always have to bookmark your posts so that I can come back when I need a kick in the pants. You are awesome as always. Love this post!
TTYS!
I haven't written in weeks. I've revised a little, and critiqued a bit more, but no new words.
I love this post! Great 12-1/2 tips, too - especially #12-1/2! That's one I need to post by my computer.
Really cool 12 1/2 tips! Dropping by on the campaign.
Ha ha ha! Too funny! :)

You're always an inspiration. I intend to do just this. Bring on the weekend!
I did write! Only about a thousand words, but I got someone where they needed to be and it wasn't even boring.
I hope you got to write too. Enjoy your weekend.
Lola, That is a great 12.5 writing rules. I don't recall ever seeing them before. We have to constantly remind ourselves of the obvious stuff, if I may use myself as an example. Love your blog! As far as the drink you mentioned for later, you deserve it! Thanks for visiting my blog and commenting on the Charles Dickens snippet.
