Happy Release Day and Random March Madness

1) Magic happened this morning, friends! Lolapalooza type magic.

Magic akin to puppy kisses and rainbow cake...
My birthday is coming up...boy-howdy do I want one of these!
Here's how it went down: After pouring my first cup of coffee this morning, I planted my (spreading) butt on the couch, macbook on my lap, and I wrote 4,000 words. Go me.

2) Someone needs to lock up Charlie Sheen (and his tiger blood), before he spontaneously combusts, splattering all over his porno skanks, thus starting the spread of the zombie apocalypse. He's like ground zero. Dude's GONE.

3) Happy March and happy writing! (I'm crawling back into my writing cave. Send cake. And dirty martinis, pleaseandthankyou.)

Wazzup with you?
Read/buy any great books lately?
Write anything great lately?

Lola you're awesome. I actually laughed out loud about the charlie sheen segment. That guy is a live grenade at this point! Happy release day indeed to all of these awesome authors. Have a great week!!

What did Michael Jackson try to say?
Charlie Sheen questions Obama about 9/11
despite AIPAC controlled media censorship.
Mel Gibson does not play dumb about 9/11 either.

I love all the rainbow cakes! They look horribly full of unnatural colourants, and yet they just look so FUN!

And I really like the cover for LIAR SOCIETY. The girl looks so sassy :-) And I love how everyone's been pinkifying their hair in support on their twitter/facebook pics!

There are some nice people in blogland, and you are one of them.
If I could bake a halfway decent cake and if I had your address I would send you a giant birthday cake. Since I can't do that, I will just send bestest birthday wishes.

Hart Johnson said...

Yay for Trent! Yay for book releases! And YAY for real bookstores and real books. This whole Charlie Sheen things sort of gives me a rash. I think though, there are so many people who would self destruct if they had nearly unlimited means to do so. Society doesn't do its job self-correcting with people who have fame or power until they've spiraled out of control.

JEM said...

I heart your random. I actually feel really bad for Charlie Sheen because he's falling apart in front of the world and most people are just standing around watching. I don't actually want to know how bad off he is, it just makes me sad.

I also wrote on Monday about going into a Borders and the awful experience it was to see a bookstore with books I know and love treated like rayon scraps of mall clothing. I'm all about buying books new now, although I'm on the ebook wagon (don't shoot!).

Sarah said...

oh my gosh, rainbow cake...makes me hyperactive just looking at it all. yum. Trent Reznor, I mean, yes. He's the epitomy of cool. Charlie Sheen? He's not funny so off my radar. :)

Heather said...

How awesome of the winner to pay it forward, love that! Yeay for Liar Society and Clarity! I'm adding them to my to buy list! Don't forget The Clearing by Anne Riley. Can't wait to read that one!

KLM said...

I like to think that Charlie Sheen is personally undoing the old adage, "there's no such thing as bad publicity," one crazy tweet at a time. Yikes. That boy needs a muzzle and a big bowl of sedatives.

Hannah Kincade said...

Pretty much everything I've read this year has been good. I'm on Delirium right now and so far, loving it!!

Thank you for the opportunity for much booty.

Poor Charlie. No one understands those who possess tiger blood and speak the wizard words.

Jennie Bailey said...

LOVE Pay it Forward!! And my heart is breaking over Charlie. He really is such a good guy when he's sober. At the moment, we're thinking pyschotic break brought on by years and years and years of drug abuse. It's reprehensible that the media continues to seek him out and film this. I feel so bad for his parents, who love him so much it's unbelievable. Addiction in any form is such an ugly, ugly thing. :-( But what can you do when they don't want help? Pray that they hit rock bottom without dying, I guess. So, so sad.

YAY Lisa Potts!!! One of my newest blogging buds -- so happy for her! And Lola, you are THE best. I truly love your energy. Can't wait until we get together, one of these days. Very soon, I hope!

Wow, congratulations to Anonymous and to Lisa! What a sweet thing to do :)

You cracked me up about Charlie Sheen!

I totally agree about buying from a brick and mortar store. I need physical books!

While sitting in the er with my honey on Saturday, I read a sweet little book called Every Soul Is A Star.....

Carol Riggs said...

Gorgeous cakes! They look yummy, and I've even already had dinner and two chocolate chip cookies. LOL

What a great pay it forward idea! That is so cool. Congrats to Lisa. Wow, should I admit I don't even know who Trent Reznor is? *hangs head in shame*

Susan Tiner said...

Lola, those cakes are amazing!

The movies nominated for Oscars I'd seen were The Black Swan and The King's Speech, so I was not familiar with most of the people getting awards, including Trent Renzor. Must see more movies!

Lindsey Edwards said...

What a gracious winner!! And what a yummy pic too!!

Speaking of paying it forward, an award for you: http://crystalcollier.blogspot.com/2011/03/award-awards-awards.html

Brigitte said...

Thanks so much for following my blog! Real honor. :)You definitely deserve a follow-back simply for being awesome.

I tried to send you a rainbow cake through the monitor but my screen got suddenly covered in icing and before i realized i was eating the cake, i started licking it off so it wouldn't go to waste. People were staring (i'm in the college labs right now) because it looked like I was licking Trent Reznor's arms.
True story.

Charlie Sheen as the beginning of the zombie apocalypse. LOL. Yeah, that totally makes sense.
