| Lisa, you will be missed. |
(I hate cancer)
If you never had the pleasure of meeting or talking with Lisa, believe me, she was a sweetheart. She loved her husband and son and pets and writing and writers...and mermaids.
Her books:
and
Please keep her family in your thoughts prayers.
Read L. K. Madigan's Last Blog Post and the love she inspired. But I encourage you to also read through all her posts and interviews, because they are a wealth of information and proof of her generosity and love of helping her fellow writers.
ETA: Lisa loved her son so very much. Information on how you can contribute to a trust fund for @lkmadigan's son: http://bit.ly/dLtmDE
Lisa, you will be missed.

About Me
- Lola Sharp
- My name is Lola. (I'm not a showgirl) Yes, L-O-L-A Lola. It's the least of my worries. Let's move on, shall we? This blog is mostly about my misadventures on the journey to publication and beyond. My passion for lush prose, quirky characters, art, music, literature, performing arts and anything creative will be a major theme here. This journey of mine will not always be pretty. Much like rubbernecking a train wreck, I know sometimes you just can't help but look at the carnage that is often my life. So strap on your neck brace, helmet and 5-point harness and come along for the ride! Licentia poetica.

My heart is broken.....and I feel so deeply for her family.
So sad. I had her book on my list. When I heard she was sick, I bought it. I just started The Mermaid's Mirror the other day. It will be bittersweet as I read it, but at least her words will live on.
My heart goes out to Lisa's family, friends, and all the lives she touched.
Hugs,
~Jamie
So sad. My thoughts and heart go to her family and friends. *hugs*
How very sad for her family and friends. My heart goes out to them.
I'm adding her books to my to-read list. This is so sad. I recently found out someone close to me has cancer. It's horrifying. I wish I was the most brilliant person in the world who could discover the cure for all cancers :*(
My prayers are with Lisa's family and friends.
I just read that post. Tears in my eyes. Thoughts and prayers with Lisa and her family.
I'm going over to read Lisa's post now. So sorry for this great loss, Lola.
Oh my Lola, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I'll head over to the post now. Best from Chicago. . . XOXO
I'm saddened to hear this. So sorry for your loss. **Hugs**
I'm sorry, Lola, so very sorry. I read Lisa's last post and even though I didn't know her I feel a deep sense of sadness and loss. What a wonderful person she was. My thoughts and prayers are with Lisa and her family. Hugs!
To be clear, we only met a couple times, and chatted online and email a few times. She was kind to a nobody like me, and I always appreciated that.
This is so sad, really. My prayers for her and her family. (((hugs)))
It's difficult to make sense out of something so tragic happening to someone so young. I hope her family can find comfort.
How terribly sad! My thoughts are with you and her family. Heartbreaking to be sure.
I kept re-reading Lisa's post from last month and wanting to cry -- it's really heart-breaking. My heart and prayers for her and with her family.
So sorry to hear this, Lola. I did not know Lisa or her blog but, like everyone else, I am no stranger to the pain of such losses. I just came back from visiting her last blog post ... as you say, "heartbreaking", and rather awe-inspiring for her serenity and fortitude. Take good care of yourself.
I didn't know her, but I heard about this and it's just tragic. :(
R.I.P. Lisa.
Such sad news. That blog post is heartbreaking. My heart goes out to her family...
I am so sorry. :-( My heartfelt sympathies and condolences to her family. Take care

I stand in front of a class of students each week and tell them that everything they think and know and are--will be wiped off the face of the earth one day unless they learn to write. It's what gives us permanence...in a world where too often, life is cut short. The shock of this startles them.
You and she will be in my thoughts today. May her family find peace in the beautiful life she lived.
I just read this over at The Rainy Day Wander site. Such sad news. My thoughts and prayers to the family.

So very sad. RIP, Lisa.
What a lovely woman, wife, mother, and all the things she managed in her life. I will get her books.
Oh, so sad. I send out healing thoughts to her family and I will go look for her books.
RIP,Lisa.
I just read about this on Words Crafter's site - very sad!
So very sad. You're right, cancer sucks. We lost our brother-in-law to it a few years ago, and I don't think I'm over being angry about it yet.
I am so sorry to hear this. My heart and prayers go out to her family. (hugs)
Add my thoughts and prayers. Cancer is a scourge and I know the saddness.
My thoughts are with Lisa's friends and family.
I loved reading Flash Burnout.
Oh damn. I read this blog post a few weeks ago when she first wrote it and hoped, with only the fervent hope a believer in the magic of the universe could, that some miracle would save her. I'm so sad right now, she was such a beautiful person. Thanks for sharing the news, it's important people know what she did.
Oh no!
:-(
((big hug)) So, so sorry for your loss. :o( That book about the mermaid looks amazing~ <3
This is so terribly sad. I walk for a cure every year because of wonderful people like her. We've lost too many to all types of cancer. So sad.
Very tragic news. She will be missed dearly. Thank you for the lovely tribute and link for her words. *hugs*
Again, I only spoke with her briefly a few times, I'm sure she wouldn't have remembered me. But I will always remember her warmth and kindness.
So, so sad. I hate cancer too ... it's so destructive.
What a great tribute.
This is awful. I was so sad to hear the news.
This is so sad. I hate cancer too. I've lost two loved ones to cancer and know several people who are currently dealing with it. I'll keep her and her family in my prayers.
Lola, I'm so sorry to hear about Lisa's passing. My thoughts and best wishes will be with her family.

Thank you for posting about this...I just couldn't. It's so, so sad. Waiting for Amazon to deliver her books to me and I'm wondering why I waited so long to order them.
SO SAD! I need to read Flash Burnout.
This is such a shocking news! My condolences to all her family.
I am beyond devastated for her husband, son and pets. So very, very sad.
Thanks for all the contest love! I just finished DIVERGENT last night and loved it! I can't wait to pass it on to someone else! I don't have twitter :( , but each time you tweet, let me know (you can just do it in the contest section) and I'll give you another point. You'll rack up those entries in no time! Yes, I'm on sub, so fingers crossed! It's been a little less than three weeks now. The waiting is nuts!
This is just so sad.
Lisa was my same exact age.
I cannot imagine having the grace she had at the end.
She will be missed.
Shelley
Dear Lola, this news is very sad. I hate cancer too.
This is very sad. I don't know much about her, but even just looking at her photo, I can tell she was full of life.
Oh so sorry! Prayers to her family and to you, Lola.
Sad. Going to her blog now.
Her post brought tears to my eyes. My thoughts and prayers to Lisa's family.
So sorry. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
Oh, I am so, so sorry to read this. What a beautiful photograph--beautiful smile. Such a tragic loss. My deepest sympathy to her family and friends.
I hadn't known about her, but I linked to her blog from Jennifer Laughran's and wow . . . wealth of knowledge and generosity for sure! I was amazed that she was there helping other writers share their books right up to the end. What a wonderful and giving person. So sad for her family.
What sad news. I will definitely be praying for her family.
I remember reading her January post with a heavy heart, and then I was saddened to hear about her death.
The lesson is to live to the fullest.
And kindness matters.
