Add books to this list, please.

My Thankful (for) List:

1) Kindness and love in all its forms
2) My gorgeous, smart, healthy daughter
3) My gorgeous, smart, healthy husband
4) Our furry, 4-legged family members
5) Our pretty home full of love and yummy food
6) Books, talented writers and book stores. Oh, the magic...

7) The internet--it makes research so much easier. And, it brought me YOU.
8) Music and art and secret gardens
9) Delicious and chocolate cake, especially
10) Lazy movie-marathon days with my family in our PJs all day

I'm thankful for many, many things, and for that, I am thankful.

Whether you celebrate Thanksgiving or not, I hope you have much to be thankful for and that you know I am thankful for YOU.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Oh, and I finished my Nano-wip Friday and spent the weekend with my family DOING things, like going to see HP7 (twas good) and playing. Huzzah!

Now, back to revisions. *sigh*

What are YOU thankful for?
What's the best book you've read this year?

Summer said...

I'm thankful for my family by marriage, my wonderful husband, our precious and naughty kittens, even though Magoo chews my hair off while I sleep, and the way things have worked out for us. Also, YOU!

And bunnies.
And peppermint tea.

Loved your list and the delightful illustrations!

I'm thankful for Starbucks with drive-thru windows & good-looking men who play baseball and wear those nice snug white pants.

The best book I've read this year has probably been Queen of Babble by Meg Cabot. I needed fun & uplifting at the time, and Meg delivered it.

I'm thankful for so much. Yesterday, I was giving thanks for attending a birthday for a one-year-old that included a drum jam. What a way to celebrate a young life and journey ahead!
I'm forever thankful for family and friends, which now includes so many writers/bloggers. And, wow, I'm grateful that my passion is writing.

Congrats on finishing NaNo!! I'm thankful for NaNo giving me the much needed break from revisions. I really needed to be drafting! I don't think I'll "win" this year, but I love it so!!

Wonderful list! Congrats on NaNo! I have to ask where the "bookstore" picture comes from?

Carol Riggs said...

Great list; I'll echo most of yours. Best book I've read? Hmm. Been doing more writing than reading this year. Probably Catching Fire (2nd book, after Hunger Games).

Heather said...

Huge congratulations on finishing your NaNo project, that's fantastic! I'm thankful for many things, most of which you covered very well. I'll be posting about it this Wednesday on Heather's Odyssey. The best book I've read this year, oh that's hard, probably Shadow Hills by Anastasia Hopcus or Mistwood by Leah Cypess!

Lola Sharp said...

Thank friends...I really am thankful for you.

Mara-- the picture was something I had downloaded from 'we heart it' which was from someone on Tumblr, and they didn't know where it was from (I tried to follow the trail) I do not know where the dreamy photo was taken
(and if anyone does, PLEASE let us know! I would LOVE to visit and shop in that store!!)
nor do I know to whom I should give photo credit.
(I would have linked/ given the name/details if I knew)

I hope someone knows where it is! :)

I'm thankful for my large, healthy family. I'm thankful I live in the USA for lots of reasons. I'm not sure what I think of that video.

Jeff King said...

Yea, I went to see HP 7 as well, they did a good job on this one, I am thankful for that.

The best book I’ve read this year was Stephen kings "under the dome" and a close second was Suzanne Collins’s “mocking-jay”

Lola Sharp said...

Susan G/K-- that is a clip from the movie Love Actually...which is a favorite movie for many people, including myself. It stars more big names than I can name here, and it takes place around the holidays. That scene and that character (Billy Mack) is hilarious...though much of the movie is sad, so he's a much needed comic relief.

Liza said...

My thankful list is too long for this comment box...assure you that it is a big one and wish you a happy Thanksgiving!

Abby Minard said...

Congratulations on finishing NaNo. I just finished last week on Friday. I have to admit, it took a lot out of me and I slept a lot over the weekend. Ha!

Holy Cow, 600 followers? That's incredible. Great job!

Great thankful list, Lola! And huge congrats on your NaNo!

DL Hammons said...

My thankful list is as long as it is wide, but right there near the top is a critter group that has kept me on the straight and narrow, nudged when I hesitated, pulled when I drug my feet, and offered companionship beyond measure.

There are times when the word THANKS is sorely inadequate. :)

Melissa Gill said...

Great list. Congrats on finishing your Nano! I'm thankful for all the little things in life that often get overlooked.

M Pax said...

I'm thankful for all the people in my life. Time is too short. I'm thankful to have a warm roof over my head and food on the table. I'm happy I don't live in a place like North Korea.

The best book this year ... I'm enjoying *Year of the Flood* by Margaret Atwood right now.

Lori W. said...

I love the title of your blog! Thanks for stopping by mine.

Favorite book? Tough call, but I read all three books in The Hunger Games series in a week. Those will stick w/me awhile.
