I friended you on Twitter! I was like you and holding out for the longest time. I actually started a TWIT account way back when it was just getting started, but I couldn't see the point and so never did anything with it, Now tho, I see what a valuable tool it is for writers.

Happy tweeting!

Angela @ The Bookshelf Muse

Lola Sharp said...

Thanks Angela! :)

I'm not sure I get what all the fuss is about, but we shall see.

Old Kitty said...

Oh noes!! Lovely luscious Lola has gone over TO THE OTHER SIDE!! That blue birdy may be cute but look into its eyes - look deep into its dark and cruel eyes....!!

Oh but seriously!! Have fun tweeting/twittering!! I shall resist this little birdy all by my lonesome. Sigh. Nevermind! LOL!

GOOD LUCK with your revisions!! Keep going - you can do this!!!

Hello to our fellow Martians - maybe they've come over specially to retrieve one of their own about to be sent to jail..!

Take care

Lola Sharp said...

Kitty--you crack me up! :)

Corinne said...

I have a love hate relationship with twitter... half the time I feel like I'm talking to a wall...
But I followed you :)

Jennie Bailey said...

Oh Lola, you are so very brave! I have not yet entered the world of tweeting yet. Perhaps, your courage will inspire me to do the same when I return from vacation.

Revisions in HELL should really go faster, don't you think? Mine seemed to last an eternity. All that heat frazzled my hair. I managed to get through it, though, and now it's off to readers!

Alex J. Cavanaugh said...

I'll follow you on Twitter!

Vicki Rocho said...

I've got a twitter account, I just haven't used it. So sad...maybe one of these days. I'm just afraid it will suck up what precious little time I have left, so I hold off.

Good luck with your contests!

Candyland said...

Where's Candyland's contest? :(

Lola Sharp said...

Candyland's contest is in my sidebar! It's been there.

Anonymous said...

That's an amazing cover!

Welcome to the Twitter masses.

I have a contest over at my blog if you're interested. ;)

Cheeseboy said...

I have been on Twitter for 3 years now and my many followers are still waiting for my first post.

Good luck with all that revision.

Janet Johnson said...

You are so brave to jump into Twitter! I'll get there someday. Really. And Yowza on the contests. Some good stuff . . . though I can't wait for yours. :)

Lola Sharp said...

Cheeseboy, you haven't tweeted? Not even once?

(I JUST did my first tweet. Not sure how often anyone will see tweets out of me. I'm not sure I 'get it'.)

Thanks everyone! :)

KarenG said...

Those are all excellent reasons for joining twitter, esp the extra contest points! I'll see you there!

salarsenッ said...

Got to ask you, what's up with The Freaky Back from Maine Literary Contest? Please tellly mee...?

Falen (Sarah) said...

i've still managed to hold off on joining twitter. I think i've convinced myself to avoid it unless i get an offer of representation. Then i may need more word of mouth.
that's what i tell myself anyway

Sarah Callejo said...

Oooh, I'm going to add you to twitter. Be prepared to be sucked into the twitter world!

Carol Kilgore said...

Fun post! I'm not yet a twit, so I can't tweet you. Have fun with it.

TechnoBabe said...

Isn't it a shame that to participate or have a chance to win what is supposed to be a free no strings attached giveaway you have to belong to twitter and facebook and who knows what all else. When I see a giveaway I pass on by to the next blog. Hope you win something.

Shelley Sly said...

Congrats on joining Twitter! I haven't joined yet, but it's only a matter of time, I guess. That bird is just too dang cute.

Hooray for LiLo ending up in jail! About time.

Lola Sharp said...

TechnoBabe--You don't have to, it was just for EXTRA entries. These are truly wonderful contests, and I want to win bad enough to do extra things for extra entries.

Carolina Valdez Miller said...

Oh yay!! Welcome to Twitter. @reply me any time! I don't hang out there as much as I used to, but I check it every day. If nothing else, you can keep your Twitter account to earn points in future contests ;)

Thanks so much for such a kind mention! You are just so sweet. I adore you, Miss Lola. I will put in a good word for you with the random drawing program. But you've earned yourself quite a bit of entries now, so your odds are looking quite lovely!

Argh, I feel as if I'm about to suffocate from contest overload!

Lovely Lilo picture. Some jail time oughta do her a world of good (we can only hope).

JEM said...

I love how cracked out you sound. And you don't just sound that way because I watched the Old Spice Man Your Man Could Smell Like commercial. Wait. Maybe.

Anyway, I also want to win books! Because I have eyes and knowledge of the printed English language! And I paw at shiny things! Thanks for the linkage.

Hart Johnson said...

Good luck with revision hell. MAN, I hate that. As for me... about 75% done with draft one of my first cozy.

Talli Roland said...

Yay for Twitter! So happy you're there!

Good luck with revisions. I'm stuck in revisions... been there for ages. Can't wait to move on!

Patti Lacy said...

Wanted to say hi to a new bloggite!
Isn't Jennifer's site great?

Guess what else? We are both doing revisions!

Did I really write it like that in the first place?

Come by when you have time!

Jon Paul said...

Oh NO you di-in't!?!

You know what this means? It means I'm going to have to join/sign up for/apply to/buy a ticket for/enroll/enlist/embark/get under way/hail/call up/cram for/crawl across the floor and curl up next to this thing called Twitter.

Haven't a clue how to do it, but I guess I must. you got me thinking, and that--of course!--is never a good thing. ;) :D

Anonymous said...

I've joined twitter too, but haven't done anything with it...figured it was another distraction. I'm interested to see how you like it!

Okay, jailbird pictures...some gossip site actually had a bunch of celeb mugshots comparing their glamorous poses. very scary. Is that the new "thing"? go to jail for a few months and it's glamorous? Hopefully LiLo will learn something? xx

Jeff King said...

Sorry I don't use Twitter, nor Face-book.

love the blog thou...

Lisa said...

I'm following you now. And thank goodness that menace to society is locked up. Do you suppose they're letting her tweet from jail?

Anonymous said...

I know, Lindsay Lohan in jail!
How shall we survive without her artistry and integrity?

Two bad its only for three months!

Samantha Bennett said...

So glad you're a fellow tweeter! Welcome to the world of blue birds. :)

Susan Fields said...

I joined Twitter a while back but I haven't done a thing with it. When you figure it out, how about posting a tutorial for us twitter novices who are totally clueless?

Anonymous said...

Yeah for Twitter! Admittedly I only get sucked into that vortex once every couple months. But I *am* now following you! Thanks for the very cool links to contests. I do so love me some swag. :)

Hope you had an uneventful trip back to civilization (yeah for AC!!!) and are enjoying the wonders of a temperate home.

Kelly said...

I've been a holdout on Twitter, too. But I just may have to cave and do it soon, too!
I haven't tried writing YA either. I have poetry, PB and MG manuscripts written...
Holy cool contests! I'll have to check 'em out!
Summer is flying by. I'm on vacation with the fam right now. Again.

Julie Dao said...

I am now following you on Twitter! :) I don't use it all that much anymore but it is fun to keep up with everyone in "real time." Hope your summer is going well and good luck with all of your writing!

beth said...

Friended you on Twitter.

And thank's for posting Bree's new cover--I'd not seen it before. So striking!

Donna Hole said...

No, I'm not a YA writer. Don't read it either - much. Sparkly vampires - get serious; I want them lean and hungry. I want them to glamour, not be glamourous.

Sorry, got off on a tangent. My summer is hot, the PG&E bill too high, but I got a new NetBook to play around with. Very exciting.

I don't tweet. I know I will someday, but right now, its too much effort. It will interfere with my blogging obsession I fear.

But have fun with it.

Elliot Grace said...

...great pic of the alcoholic jailbird:)
I guess that leaves me as the last writer on the planet without a twitter account.
Oldest son's correct in saying, "Dad, you're so old school its shameful!"

Dawn Simon said...

Good for you, jumping in on Twitter. I've saved my name on it but...still resisting (for now). It's that whole time suck thing you mentioned, but I know I'll be joining you. Eventually.

Wow, what a cool bunch of contests! Thanks for telling us about them. And yes, beautiful cover!

Have a great week!

Olivia J. Herrell said...

Hey Lola! Thanks for dropping by my blog and NO you're not the last. I don't write YA, either.

Great contests, I'll check them out, thanks!

As for Twitter. Hmm. I have an account, tweet random stuff every now and then, but I want to either get a new account or change to my full name use it as a writing medium, rather than random-whatever-strikes-me tweets.

Congrats on diving out of the nest and flexing your Twitter wings! I'm still peeking over the edge. It's scary out there, especially with Time-Sucks rampaging around.
