Keep Books Alive...buy them....read them...LOVE them.

J D Salinger lived a long life...and gave us the gift of his talent while he was here.
Catcher in the Rye is one of my favorite books.
I am forever grateful.
Rest in Peace.

I too love books, their physicallity. MrIcy and I share eight bookcases full between us so far and I'm sure we'll have lots more.

I do read e-books that have the copyright expired (on a Windows Mobile), but I own physical copies of those books as well.

For my very, very favourite books I even go to the extent of having a hardcopy to keep and a paperback as a "reading copy" to take on the train.

Am I lame? Maybe. Do I care? No.

Not lame. The very opposite of lame.
I join you in the massive number of books/bookcases, and owning favorites in hardback and paperback.

I am not opposed to people using e-readers (IF they ethically pay for the downloads), and I do understand why some people enjoy them and their "convenience"/space saving nature...I'm not a hater. But I will never own one. (you know what a luddite I am, unlike your tech savvy self)

Have a wonderful week.

My name is Lola. (I'm not a showgirl) Yes, L-O-L-A Lola. It's the least of my worries. Let's move on, shall we? This blog is mostly about my misadventures on the journey to publication and beyond. My passion for lush prose, quirky characters, art, music, literature, performing arts and anything creative will be a major theme here. This journey of mine will not always be pretty. Much like rubbernecking a train wreck, I know sometimes you just can't help but look at the carnage that is often my life. So strap on your neck brace, helmet and 5-point harness and come along for the ride! Licentia poetica.
